🔧 L&S Smog (STAR Station)

VERY PICKY VISUAL INSPECTION! I was there today and saw Jean-Luc (only person there) FAIL three cars during the visual inspection, one of it being mine, and it look like one was a return customer for a re-test. The crazy thing is I paid my fee and drove straight to another smog station that I have taken to before and without problems it PASSED! You're probably wondering why I just didn't take it to my original place? Well, it was the DISCOUNTED price and location, the other place is in Elk Grove. My point being is don't let the discounted price get you and thinking all smog stations are the same. The price is not that much different from other stations. The real difference is who you get as an "Inspector". The visual inspection is subjective, meaning they decide if it's going to pass or fail and not a computer. Also, they do have an unspoken "quota", meaning that no station can have a 100% passing or failing rate so, unfortunately today was the day the three of us were the sacrificial lambs for this station.

It was just one guy there, but he did a great job moving things along despite being fairly busy. Quick and easy, and a great price when you use the online coupon!

Repeat customer here, I went this afternoon after work for my smog, excellent customer service, polite, fast affordable, but I got something extra, the man was talking to another customer about Cadillac converters and I didn’t really know anything about that and so when he was done, I asked him what he was talking about, and he explained everything to me in detail. He took the time to explain to me something that I had no clue about The laws and everything with Cadillac converters I learned something / what an added bonus, how cool is that! The guy that works here is so knowledgeable and so nice and so friendly I’ll never go anywhere else , I told him he better be here in two years when I have to come back!

L&S Smog is the only place I will be taking my cars from now on. The customer service is excellent, and the smog service did not take long at all considering there were a few cars before me. Thank you!!!

Employee is rude, lazy, and makes up their own hours. “no appointments needed” but turn you away because they feel like going home at a certain time. If your business is open until 5 then sending people away an hour before closing is plain false advertisement. “Speedy service” but you can apparently only do 1 smog check per hour. The employee refused to give him name but from the other poor reviews I see it’s John. they offer a coupon for discounted smog checks then change the price once you get there. I will be reporting them to the BBB and DMV. Don’t go there unless you want to be disrespected and mistreated
