🔧 Sacramento Smog Test & Repair

Took my 19 yo car here with a P0430 code (catalytic converter) for repair. After waiting two days and spending $360 for recommended repairs, I was told I needed to spend another $750 for manifold gasket replacement to determine IF the converter is bad. This process appears to be a sequence of “part shopping” - they will sequentially replace every part you agree to pay for and hope the CEL goes out. The converter is 19 yo and well beyond the average lifespan of a typical converter. At this rate my cost will escalate well beyond what anyone should pay for this repair and left with the same issue I walked in with. This was simply a waste of time and money. Will get the repairs elsewhere.

Went in for a smog check, and the service was great. The technician was really kind and even applied a $10 discount on my first visit. The whole process was quick and efficient. Thanks again!

TLDR: fast service, DOWNLOAD SMOG COUPON Called ahead and made an appointment for a routine smog check 30 minutes out. Customer service over the phone was terrible. I was asked if I had a coupon- I didn’t. The whole service only took about 15 minutes. As I came here to write this review I realized they have a great coupon on their website. I’m bummed no one mentioned it to me over the phone when I called. Smog service was almost $80 💀😵💸 The waiting/reception area is absolutely filthy.

(This is in response to your response to my review) I actually just want to say thank you. If it wasn't for your really poor customer service and the fact that I had to refund the Groupon I got for you guys, I never would have googled "Sacramento smog coupons" and found a great place that only charges $40 flat rate for the test with their coupon. Hopefully finding out that there are better places way cheaper in the area with way better customer service will make your rude employee more humble. As well as deter other people reading this from dealing with your company. Have a happy holidays.
